Our own Recycling program of all the organic and non organic waste!  Sharing our experiences with the community and schools

• An Ecological trail at the Reserve of Playa Tortuga, an unforgettable learning experience for all of us. Not only identifying the points of interest in flora and fauna, but in particular to be actively participating in this important conservation program in our area (visit for more information their website at: www.reservaplayatortuga.org).
• An Ecological Program with the schools of neighboring villages of Ojochal and Punta Mala to share our learning experience with the children as well as the teachers, to learn more about the flora and fauna of our natural environment. Themes so far: Friends of the Mangroves, Friends of the Tortugas. Friends of the Mountains. Recycling and the 5R Program.  
• Support actively the ´´Associacion de Mujeres emprenderas of Ojochal´´ (AMO), an organized group of women living in the village of Ojochal, encouraging rural tourism as a benefit for the community. For example by reintroducing the knowledge and supporting the reforestation of the Ojoche tree (Brosimum Alicastrum), a tree that gave name to the community. www.amojochal.blogspot.com
  And help rebuilding the cultural centre of the community, not only physical but also by promoting art and sports.

• Take a guided tour to  the Ecological Trail of the Reserve of Playa Tortuga (RPT www.reservaplayatortuga.org, our neighbors at the south side of the hotel as a contribution to the conservation of the area.
• Participate in our commitment to energy and resource conservation. Energy conservation helps reduce the effects of global warming, acid rain, smog and protects our natural resources. Here is how you can help:
  
• Thanks to our Campaign for the saving of water, electricity and solid waste, during the year 2010 Hotel Villas Gaia saved a 4% in water and 4.2% in electricity and moved in to reducing the amount to solid waste when compared to the year 2009. Without a doubt, this is a success in our efforts to protect the environment. For that reason, during this year 2011 and 2012 we have set a goal to save 5% in water use and 5% in electric use and 5% decrease of solid waste.
